B-Carotene the GOOD Vitamin A : UVA exposure causes premature aging by an increase of oxidative stress in skin. In a study using human skin cells, the researchers found that beta-carotene suppressed UVA-induction of  enzymes which are key to degradation of the extracellular matrix during premature skin aging.  Scientists showed that UVA rapidly destroys beta-carotene in the cells, indicating that the carotenoid has to be replenished after sun light exposure.

The ultimate solution for anti-aging should no longer be considered a seasonal item; No longer considered about skincolor; No longer about age. Doctors, skincare specialists, and beauty professionals have actually determined that the most effective anti-aging product is simply a bottle of broad-spectrum sunscreen. Although usually associated with the prevention of skin cancer and sunburn, it is estimated that almost all sun damage is the result of casual exposures to the sun’s UVA rays in the course of a lifetime, rather than a few summer and tropical vacations resulting in sunburn (UVB rays). People typically do not have on sun protection while riding in their car, or briefly stepping outdoors, thereby accumulating multiple, short, and unprotected exposures to the sun (especially and unknowingly in winter, with the super reflectivity of snow on the ground).

Unlike UVB, UVA rays maintain the same strength all year round. It comes as no surprise that with every single day of sun exposure leading to wrinkles and premature aging of the skin, dermatologists recommend that everyone, young and old, apply a daily application of  sun care lotion with an SPF of at least 15 that includes a UVA rating. In addition to not wearing sunscreen, other factors that affect how a person's skin ages include free radicals, certain foods, outdoor sports, air and water pollution, stress, weather, cabin pressure while flying, alcohol consumption, and smoking.

Although a plethora of anti-aging products both natural and chemical are available, the evidence for those that make such claims is often not clearly substantiated. Since sunscreens qualify as both a cosmetic AND a drug they are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, and as such, can be used with confidence on a daily basis, even underneath makeup. Better still, sunscreen formulas containing vitamins and antioxidants (BRONZO SENSUALE) that further reduce additional skin damage caused by free radicals.  A broad- spectrum SPF 15 or SPF 30 UVA/UVB sunscreen lotion is the safest, most effective preventative medicine for preserving vital skin function and keeping a healthy appearance.
